Derniere ligne droite

I decided on working more on these witches coming from paint drops when I am left alone at the gallery. Since they first came out over-there, it makes sense to have them on for my first exhibtion at the Gallery.

Another Sunday at the gallery

Experience #24: Correspondances

The French word “correspondances” has two main uses:
-connexions between journeys.
-a paper mail exchange.
Experiment#24 is a “correspondance”, a text (that I will not write) and an illustration that I will have to make for it.
It is starting today, because it is the birthday of my two first sisters. The very persons who introduced me to words and books through poetry and out-of-the-main-stream litterature. One has always a word for me, the other cna find me a book anytime, just reading my face. Exp.#24 will end on April 2011 the 13th, the birthday of my third sister, Claire, who walked with me on the picture side.
It is both a connexion between journeys and a mail exchange. On April the 14th, NZ mail permitting, three bounded copies will travel half the world to reach of my sisters.
So, the “guideline” says, I need some text and it’s up to me to illustrate them, to “answer my mail”.
This experiment is open to anyone, so if you would like to send me a text that you have written or read, or lyrics email me through this link.

[SinglePic not found]

Started on Saturday. No idea about timeframe. No idea about structure. Experiment 23 is involving people that I never met before. Cooperation.

Experience#19: Oz and the White Land

Sometimes experiments don’t work. It’s just giving something anyway. There’s always some tinge of deception if it wasn’t planned. I guess that the beauty of experimenting. 19 did not work.

19 is, was? a letter exchange with school children. It only went back and forth one time. And You saw the orange shadows I got from it. Just for background info, the Great Plan was to get them to exchange using words and pictures. And experience the paper mail, that possibly they would never meet otherwise. And you have to justify just about whatever you want to do with children with some great reasons for them to learn, so I did some work to find great reasons just to dream in real.

The grand plan was to get them in a game-book fashion solving riddles so I could hatch an “imaginary” egg. And I would send them a picture and eggshell debris to keep, because when you write letters, at the end, the letter stays with you, right? All your life if you want it so.
Yesterday was a good day to hatch it and end #19, although, I knew my egg would be empty, because school is out for a long time now. I know Rachel wanted to it me smashing my Xmas balls (my eggshell material). Well, Rachel, it really didn’t turn out like I expected. It was about 18h, the sun was only getting in one bit of the table and I wasn’t going to put the pieces in little bags for token for the kids. I hammered the first one and a strange thing happened. A rainbow mist rose. And the thing never fell apart because it was made of plastic. And it ain’t no way I would have gotten around plastic little chips looking like eggshell. So it turned out good. I got no magic animal out of it. But I got fairy dust all over my living room. And of course, fairy dust, you can’t photograph it.

Experience#21

Experience#21: Sorcieres

I am starting a new experiment on interwoven human shapes and forest. Mainly working on black. Black and white in full, but I would really want to work as much as I can on black. Okay, some of it may be related to the fact that, unfortunately at present, I am mainly working on self portraits. Because I have to see my face so much, I don’t really feel like posting it directly. I’ll build up a link on the side, when… I don’t know when. So far, I have 5 pictures.
